Where does Spider-Man’s black suit come from? Its very first appearance was right here in this issue! (Fun fact: I once heard that the idea for the black suit came from a young fan who sold it to Marvel.) It’s true that the full origin of the suit is explained later in Secret Wars (1985), but that series was released months after this comic — probably around 5 to 10 months later!
